Do I need experience in blacksmithing to take this class?
No, this class is designed for the person with little or no experience in
blacksmithing. And is also designed to keep thoes with some experience
challenged.
Can I take this class again?
Yes, the class is set up to take you from beginner to intermediate
through challenging projects. If you take the class more than once
you will be building on a good foundation from the first class and
practice makes perfect.
Why do the students use a gas forge for the class?
Because for the beginner and intermediate it is to their advantage
to use a gas forge. You could spend a class and more on how to use a
coal forge. And the puropse is to help the student get to know and
enjoy blacksmithing.
What should I bring to class?
If you have a favorite hammer or pair of tongs or safety glasses
you like to wear please do bring them. A good pair of work shoes
is suggested. And a note book if you want.
Do I need to bring lunch?
No, only if you have special dietary needs. The school will provide
you with a salad and pasta lunch.
Do you have gift certificates available?
Yes! Gift certificates are available and can be purchased in any
amount and applied to any class. They are good one year from the
date of purchase. If a gift certificate is purchased for a specific
class and date they MUST be used for that class date ONLY. Gift
certificates are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
